Rancho Mirage is home to people at every stage of life — including the workforce that serves our community and the seniors who built it. I believe we can meet our housing responsibilities thoughtfully, on our own terms, while protecting the low-density, residential character residents love. I’m proud that we were among the first valley cities to earn State Housing Element certification — and we backed that commitment with action: a more than $9 million investment — with our regional partners — in the Cook Street substation, securing the electrical capacity to bring as many as 636 new homes online — homes for the workforce that serves our community and the seniors who built it. Our City already owns and operates 226 senior housing units, and I will continue to uphold the voter-supported protections that keep our neighborhoods quiet and residential.

We can welcome a new chapter while honoring the one already written. Rancho Mirage is the “Playground of Presidents,” a City of celebrated midcentury architecture and unmatched history — and protecting that identity has been one of my proudest commitments. In 2022 I promised to safeguard our architectural heritage, and I delivered: I championed the first update to our Historic Resources Survey in two decades, and it was my honor to bring the City of Rancho Mirage onto the Modernism Week stage for the very first time — sharing the design legacy that makes our City one of a kind. This is the heritage that sets us apart, and I will always work to protect it.

Our rich past has brought us to our celebrated present. I will work with dedicated residents to preserve our heritage, even as we write our next chapter together.
