Safety is the foundation of everything we cherish about Rancho Mirage. Our quiet streets and our peace of mind are not accidents — they are the result of strong partnerships with the Riverside County Sheriff and Fire, dependable emergency response, and a Council that puts residents first.

I am proud that our City protects residents 55 and older from out-of-pocket costs for emergency paramedic and ambulance transport through our Emergency Medical Services program — a benefit our community treasures, and one I will always defend. I’ve worked to keep critical routes open in every season through the new Frank Sinatra Drive bridge, and to strengthen our defenses against today’s cyber threats, protecting both our City systems and your personal information.

Our commitment is real and measurable. Public safety is the City’s single largest investment — nearly half of every operating dollar — and it is working. Since 2021, property crimes like burglary, larceny, and auto theft have fallen sharply, even as we’ve stretched every dollar by investing in smart technology: license-plate-recognition cameras, a real-time crime center, and a drone program that extends our deputies’ reach. Property crime is down, and that is no accident.
